It's been a bit wee long since my last post and I know all of you dedicated followers of this blog have been biting your nails at the sheer anxiety of not knowing what I been getting up to in SL! Lol that was a little inside joke I'm sharing with myself since so far I don't have any followers. Summary of Addy events from the last week in SL:

My Store

I went in search of a store to rent, even though I had no clothes to sell. Sat for hours at my computer finding renting options in 'Xstreet SL' and teleporting to the different locations for a quick viewing. I was very happy when I came across a modern looking shop that was up for rent at 75L$ per week with 2 weeks free (if paying for 4 weeks rent) allowing 50 prims. Now; I'm new to SL so really had no idea if this was a good deal, it was just better than anything else  advertised. I payed and walked into my store to redecorated only to find out that I can't recolor my walls!!!! But it doesn't matter because I love my store!

I am constantly amazed by the level of emotions I experience in SL and just how nice everyone is (except that guy who tried to come on to me in the Sandbox, when I ignored him, he told me to F off). When I moved into my store my next door neighbor came to introduce himself and added me as a friend, Kudos to my new friend for being the first in SL and for introducing me to the Skybox where I can create in privacy, not worrying about being sworn at.

Attempting to design clothes.

Without tooting my own horn.... I think that I am pretty damn good with a digital paint brush. In just a little over a week I have mastered many template and texture elements. I wonder how much better I'm gonna get next week ;-). However prims are another story, up until today I sucked and made the most amazing, total, crap with them; urrgghh so frustrating. After days of failed attempts at flexi prim skirts I started browsing the latest issue of VAiN magazine. I can't afford some of the items in there YET but just to look was breathtaking. Yes 'breathtaking' I'm in total awe of SL designers and creators, truly works of art and genuine creativity. There were some designs that really stood out, in particular the features of Chantkare dresses. I left Vain mag in my browser and dashed for the teleport to Chantkare. After much grey came fashion candy; reds, yellows, pinks, blacks and feathers, wisps and curves; absolutely beautiful. I was so inspired by the designer, Annplonia Criss, impulse took over and I found myself writing a note to her titled 'Admiring Fan' in which I expressed my respect for her artistry. I admitted that I couldn't afford to buy her clothes YET because I'm a newbie and still went on to ask her for her recommendation on 'Flower Power' and 'LoopRez Deluxe'. I then logged off to make DH dinner in RL.

Logging back in a few hours later to find a response from the designer herself. She gave me her recommendation and many kind words. Truthfully, I got a little teary eyed. Here I was saying that I hadn't even buy her clothes and despite that she still gave me her recommendation. I have to say she is one of the nicest people I have come across in SL.

Disk Defragmenter

I'm doing a disk defragmenter cause I've been noticing that SL has been a little slower recently. When I started the the defragmenter it said "This may take from a few minutes to a few hours" I started it anyway hoping it would only take a few minutes. But knowing my luck I should have guessed that it would take a few HOURS not minutes. ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!

So I went in search of an auto emote that would show how frustrated I feel.... and I found a FREE one from Lemon tree. I have to admit this emote is a bit ugly but who cares it's how I was feeling at the time. There's more than just angry infact there's 19 of them from happy, sad and cheeky, oh and it's for men too!

Second Life Newbie

So I''m less than a week old in SL and yes I'm totally obsessed with it. I've realized that my RL love of shopping has turned into an addiction in SL. I'm having fun, although I haven't made any friends :( cause I'm far too busy running around after bargains.  Starting out I looked so pale and boring but after a few days I had a full wardrobe of stuff so I experimented with my look to decide how I should look.
